O SUN O LUV...Got her!
Our dear friends Rees (aka Chris) and Rosemary are coming to visit in May. We are so excited to see them and O SUN O LUV will be ready!
She's pretty much as described in the previous post. She is a simple center console (CC); not a "Bay Boat" as previously anticipated. She is on the low end of those discussed, but I am in LUV already.
She is a 2001 Sea Hunt Triton 172 with a bimini top and 90 HP Johnson. I've added a Minn Kota RipTide Bow Mount trolling motor and a Lowrance 332C color sonar/GPS unit.
Here are two views on trailer with top down and up:

mazel tov! i can't wait to go fishing with you, we'll definitely have to put the onboard igloo cooler to use ;)
3 questions, which I believe may have to do more with the fishing aspects than the boating aspects:
1) what is a trolling motor?
2) what kind of fishing can one do on this boat?
3) is it more for open sea, or more of an intercoastal thing (or hybird)?

The trolling motor is not really designed for trolling! More for shallow water manuvering or stealth moving onto a fish holding water. They are battery operated, quiet auxillary motors. Check the MinnKota site link for a few illustrations.
One can do a lot of fishing from this boat! Everything from casting nets for shrimp to trolling or down rigging for game fish in the 75+ #'s range. We will use it in fresh and brackish water for bass and in coastal water for redfish and sea trout initially.
With the deeper V hull she is more for open water than a Bay Boat, but the LOA restricts her to calm days within in sight of land (several miles out). The compromise is with the smaller size she is more "trailerable" and can easily be launched into an amazing variety of waters available here!

I know how long you've been waiting for this. There are crazy laws down there about where you can store your boat, right? Any plans? Do you have to build a little fence around it near the house, or will you opt to pay for a place to dock it?
Either way, I can't wait to take it out, think of the photos!
